What Our Youth Say

Peer Youth Leadership Program
The Rays of Youth (RoY) Leadership Program, launched in 2011, has successfully trained over 200 youth leaders by 2024, now reaching its 9th batch. Each year, 20-25 young migrants, aged 15-18, dedicate themselves to this one-year program, building their confidence, leadership, and public speaking skills. The program covers crucial topics such as human trafficking, safe migration, human rights, gender equality, and sexual reproductive health.
Many graduates have gone on to work in humanitarian organizations, contributing to social development and supporting migrant communities. Others pursue further education, aiming to continue their impact. We believe in the potential of young people to identify problems, co-create solutions, and drive social change. Our commitment is to provide them with the space and support they need to grow and serve their communities with dedication and passion.

Vocational Education Training Program
The Rays of Youth (ROY) Vocational Education Training Program is designed to empower migrant children and youth along the Thailand-Myanmar border with the skills they need for personal and professional growth.
Our mission is to provide these young individuals with vocational training as an alternative education pathway, equipping them to build a brighter, self-sufficient future.
Our 10-month Intensive Course focuses on two key fields: Food & Beverage and Media & Creative Arts, providing participants with hands-on expertise aligned with local job market demands. The training covers essential technical skills and includes a three-month internship, where participants apply their knowledge in real-world business settings.

Alongside technical training, we provide vital life skills, including Thai language for communication, writing CVs, and preparing for job applications, ensuring participants are well-equipped for professional opportunities. We also offer one-month courses in Sewing, Bakery & Beverage, and Media & Graphic Design for those seeking more specialized training. These shorter programs offer targeted skills that can lead to immediate job opportunities or entrepreneurship ventures.
In addition to technical skills, our program emphasizes 21st-century life skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication—key competencies for thriving in today’s fast-paced world. By the end of the program, participants are not only job-ready but also empowered with the confidence to pursue meaningful careers, contribute to their communities, and become leaders in their own right.
At ROY, we believe education is transformative. Through our Vocational Education Training Program, migrant youth are breaking the cycle of poverty, achieving financial independence, and unlocking their potential for lasting success.

Community Awareness Raising
Rays of Youth conducts workshops and trainings to educate children and young people on critical issues, including child rights, protection, child labor, trafficking, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, online safety, migrant children’s rights, and traffic rules. The program uses a peer-to-peer training model, where youth leaders facilitate and deliver these sessions to their peers in schools, fostering a more relatable and impactful learning experience.
Additionally, Rays of Youth organizes at least one major campaign event each year, especially on Youth Day. These events bring together children, youth, CSOs, and NGOs to raise awareness through booth activities, sports, performances, and dramas. Media production is also a key component, with the creation of educational materials such as short films, documentaries, posters, and flyers to further spread important messages.
Youth Network Group
The Rays of Youth (ROY) Youth Network Founded in 2017, the Rays of Youth (ROY) Youth Network empowers migrant youth by unlocking their leadership potential to tackle critical social challenges. Formed through a partnership between ROY, youth leaders, and student unions from five migrant education centers, the network cultivates young leaders who are passionate about driving change in their communities.
Each year, 25 dedicated members are trained to organize impactful community events, raise awareness, and create educational media. This youth-led network strengthens problem-solving and leadership skills, while actively engaging in community development. Their contributions have earned recognition from both their peers and adults, positioning them as catalysts for positive social change.
