Cynthia Oo

Music Youth Group - 2

Joined Rays of Youth in 2012

"Where there’s a will, there’s a way."

For Cynthia Oo, these words became the foundation of her journey. Growing up in Mae Sot and attending Parami School, a migrant learning center, Cynthia joined the Rays of Youth Music Project in 2012 with a dream: to master the guitar. She participated in the program for five years, from 2012 to 2017, and later returned as an apprentice to help with the project from 2017 to 2018.

During her time at Rays of Youth, Cynthia focused on honing her guitar skills under the guidance of skilled trainers. The program didn’t just teach her music, though—it also gave her lessons in leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence. Before joining, Cynthia had only a basic understanding of music and struggled with low self-esteem. However, the training empowered her to develop her musical abilities and find her inner confidence.

Cynthiao also worked as  is a music teacher at Mae Sot Tune, where she teaches various instruments, including guitar, drums, piano, and ukulele. She continues to apply the lessons she learned from Rays of Youth, using her passion to inspire others.Currently she open the music training called C Time Music by her own and teaches  guitar, drums, piano, and ukulele to migrant children and youth.   Her message to young people is clear: “Everyone has their own dreams, but not everyone has the means to make them come true. I want to encourage all young people to realize their dreams, no matter how challenging it might be.”

Looking back on her journey, Cynthia shares her gratitude: “Having spent my entire teenage years at Rays of Youth and discovering my passion, I am profoundly thankful from the bottom of my heart.”
