"Regret doesn't make things better, so learn from it and move on for better"

For Khin Twel Win, these words became the foundation of her personal growth and commitment to community empowerment. Growing up attending the Kwe Ka Baung Learning Center and CDC School, she discovered the Peer Youth Leadership Program Batch 2 at Rays of Youth and eagerly joined in 2014. Her journey began with a desire to gain leadership skills and create a lasting impact in her community, and the program became the perfect platform for her to achieve that.

During her time in the program, Khin Twel Win gained invaluable experiences, learning how to lead with purpose and follow with humility. The training not only sharpened her leadership abilities but also equipped her with essential life skills, social knowledge, and an understanding of basic rights, all of which are vital for youth leaders. One of the most profound lessons was the power of sharing knowledge, which allowed her to connect with others and create positive change in her community.

Today, Khin Twel Win serves as the Coordinator for the Strengthening Migrant Initiative Learning and Empowerment Project. She applies the skills she honed at ROY to advocate for and uplift her community, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.

Her motto, "Regret doesn't make things better, so learn from it and move on for better," embodies her resilient spirit and unwavering determination. She encourages the younger generation to chase their dreams without being held back by the expectations of others. It’s okay to reassess and adapt along the way.

Khin Twel Win is deeply grateful to Rays of Youth for helping her unlock her potential and shaping her into the social worker she is today. "Thank you so much for everything," she says, recognizing the life-changing impact the program has had on her journey.
