Meet Nay Lin Naing, a 22-year-old whose journey from adversity to achievement embodies resilience and determination. Originally from a challenging background, Nay Lin relocated to Thailand with his family 15 years ago, seeking a better life. Settling in Mae Sot, he attended the Children’s Development Center (C.D.C), graduating in 2019. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his plans for further education and employment opportunities.

In 2021, everything changed when Nay Lin discovered the Media Creative training course offered by the Rays of Youth project through a Facebook post. His acceptance into this program marked a turning point in his life. The initial training provided him with essential life skills—health awareness, labor laws, and language proficiency in Thai and English, vital for his daily interactions.

The main phase of the program equipped Nay Lin with technical skills in typing, computer use, photography, and film production. He learned website building, personal branding, digital marketing, and financial literacy—skills crucial for thriving in today’s digital world. A highlight of his journey was an internship as a Media Assistant with the Rays of Youth project, where he could apply his newfound knowledge and hone his photography skills.

Now, Nay Lin captures moments at weddings and events, continually enhancing his craft while exploring online platforms like YouTube and Facebook to share his creative work.

“This program has opened doors for migrant youth like me, allowing us to pursue our passion for Media and Creative arts and achieve our dreams,” he shares. Nay Lin’s story is a powerful reminder that, with determination and the right support, anything is possible. Together, we can empower more young dreamers to reach their goals!
