"Empowerment Starts Here: Fueling Youth for Success"

For Suphatsara Thambunthawi, the Rays of Youth (ROY) Leadership Program became the turning point that transformed their life. Growing up in Mae Sot and attending Parami Learning Center and the Non-Formal Education Center, Suphatsara first heard about ROY when applications opened for its Leadership and Music Programs. Eager to develop themselves, they applied for the Leadership Program and embarked on a transformative journey from 2014 to 2019.

Through the program, Suphatsara gained more than just technical skills. They explored child and youth development, social issues, and personal growth while mastering public speaking, presentation, leadership, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. But more importantly, they built the self-confidence needed to communicate effectively and inspire others.

Before joining ROY, Suphatsara often felt shy and hesitant to speak up. After completing the program, they saw a dramatic shift—no longer afraid to express themselves, they became skilled at leading training sessions and sharing knowledge with their peers. The transformation was undeniable, and they emerged as a confident leader dedicated to empowering others.

Today, Suphatsara works as a Classroom Assistant Coordinator at the Migrant Education Coordination Center (MECC), contributing to the Out of School Children Enrollment Task Force Project under the Inclusive Education Foundation (InEd). The skills they acquired through ROY remain invaluable in their work, whether conducting training sessions for parents, teachers, or youth.

Suphatsara shares an empowering message for the younger generation: "Don’t be afraid of making mistakes—everyone learns from them. Focus on self-development, believe in yourself, and know that 'you can do it.' Love yourself, be kind to those who are kind to you, and always appreciate those who support you."

Grateful for the opportunities provided by ROY, Suphatsara extends heartfelt thanks to the entire team and supporters. They hope that more youth, especially those with limited opportunities, can access similar programs and unlock their full potential.
